About our Research
Research done here at UArizona Geosciences is built on a foundation of future earth principles. Understanding the fundamental processes governing earth and other planets now with relevant science will help us set up a brighter future.
We explore, discover, and train students in integrative and interdisciplinary Geoscience, including tectonics, geophysics, climate and surface dynamics, and earth materials and geochemistry. Our graduates pursue careers in research and education, energy and mineral resources, environmental policy, and many other areas. Our department maintains active research projects and student training opportunities with our partners at ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, Chevron, Freeport-McMoRan, Newmont, BHP among others. We work together in research, teaching, and outreach with UA and international collaborators.
