I am a field-based geologist and continental tectonicist with expertise in geological mapping, structural-stratigraphic analysis, and application of geo-thermochronologic methods. My research focuses on the tectonic evolution of the Tibetan Plateau and the North American Cordillera, as well as the influence of wind processes on the development of Central Asia’s deserts and the Chinese Loess Plateau. I regularly teach GEOS 251 Physical Geology, GEOS 304 Structural Geology, GEOS 414 Geology Field Camp, GEOS 423/523 Regional Structural Geology, and GEOS 425/525 Regional Tectonics. I earned my B.S. (1996) in Geosciences with an emphasis in geophysics from the University of Arizona and my Ph.D. (2001) in Geology at UCLA. I have served as a faculty member at the University of Arizona since 2002.
