Volcanology, Earth and Planetary Processes
I am a physical volcanologist. My research expertise includes investigating magma rheology, volatile outgassing and eruption explosivity associated with magma generation, migration and emplacement on the surface of the Earth with implications for volcanic hazard analysis. I also investigate volcanic eruption dynamics on the surface of other planetary bodies, such as the Moon and Mars to understand volatile cycling and the evolution of planetary interiors. I primarily integrate laboratory experiments and numerical modeling to tackle my research problems, with the aid of field/remote observations.
