Professor

Dr. Jianjun Yin is a Professor in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Arizona. He received his Ph.D. in Climate Dynamics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and completed postdoctoral research at NOAA’s Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory. His research explores climate variability and change, sea level rise, extreme events, and climate modeling, with a recent focus on how Atlantic Ocean circulation influences climate and sea level. At the University of Arizona, he teaches courses in oceanography, climate dynamics and modeling, and programming and data analysis at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Research Interests:

Climate variability and change; ocean’s role in the climate system; sea level rise; extreme events; and climate system modeling
