Jessica earned her BS in geology from Syracuse University, her MS in geology from Vanderbilt University, and her PhD in Earth Science from UCLA, where her focus was geochronology of south Tibetan core complex rocks. She has been faculty at University of Arizona since Fall 2025, starting as a lecturer teaching large general education courses. In addition to teaching, she is a faculty advisor for the undergraduate club, the Society of Earth Science Students, directs the undergraduate program, and is senior advisor for undergraduates. She currently teaches the general education class entitled "Dinosaurs: The Real Jurassic Park," offering it every semester as well as online in summer.
